The Print Show proved to be another great success for Perfect Bindery Solutions and the manufacturers we represent in the UK with high levels of interest from many visitors from across the country. For those of you who want to refresh your memory of the key systems on demonstration, and those who couldn’t make it to the show, here are some useful links:
The new ONE•LINE> from IML comprises the RI600 binder and TR30 3-knife trimmer and is totally flexible. Book blocks are fed, either manually or by conveyor, into a press caliper which automatically sets the clamps, gluing station and cover scorers for each block prior to binding. Glue application can be wheel-and-pot or nozzle, PUR or hot-melt. There is milling, side-gluing and cover feeding for standard paperbacks and, at the flick of a switch, end-papering and back-lining for book block production in readiness for case binding. The TR30 3-knife trimmer is also fully automated with an optional bar code system for run-of-one production without any operator intervention. You can find more information and a video HERE.
Since we launched the PERFECT BOX SOLUTIONS range (also manufactured by IML) at last year’s show the response has been astonishing (check out the KSP Case Study HERE). The range includes semi-automated solutions for all the key processes in preparing the boards and facing sheets, box forming and wrapping to make on-demand luxury box manufacture a realistic in-house proposition for the first time. The show also marked the first UK outing for the fastBack Professional lay-flat photo-book system from Swiss manufacturer Imaging Solutions. This all-new book block system, which has an exceptional format range up to 18″ x 18”, fits into an automated and scalable book manufacturing process to offer book binders tremendous opportunities for the production of large format books and albums, catalogues, luxury brochures or product presentations in a beautiful panoramic layout where images stretch seamlessly across each double spread to create a unique, high-quality book that stands out from the crowd.
